Description
14KT gold handcrafted antique Colonial Picket Fence diamond Brooch – if you are interested in history and preservation of historical places, Bellport New York has many historical districts on the National Register and hundreds of historically preserved homes. The picket fence with three horizontal boards and different length vertical boards along with the wrought iron curved open/close gate system has been in Bellport for almost 200 years.  You can see these gates (the hardware yes, the wooden parts have obviously been restored) all over our village. They also exist in other colonial towns in America. So my husband, Pietro made this for me 15 years ago when I was President of our Bellport Chamber of Commerce. The ‘gate’ is the logo. It is solidly made with 18 .01 point round brilliant diamonds bead set with milgraining detail on the support posts and in the top of the posts.  The ‘wrought’ iron gate mechanism is made of 14KT white gold. The double pin assembly is also white gold as are the tiny squares on the top of the posts.  The piece measures almost 2 inches across by 1 inch and it weighs 12.5 grams. It is a one of a kind and is meant to be worn on a jacket/coat etc given its sturdy double pin assembly. However it can also be set up to wear as a dramatic pendant as well. Â
