Deruta Italy Grande Charger Battle of Orlando Furioso 31″ round – Depicting the Frenzy of Orlando an ancient poem by Ludovic Ariosto – exquisitely crafted with no chips or issues. Was purchased in the 1980s in Italy for over $5000 and crated back to the US.
On the back is the following inscription from the artist – L’Artica di Deruta Fecit Pafticocare Della Battaglia del’Orlando Furioso – Tipologia Rindscimentale finse
Signed by the artist – not sure of the spelling – looks like Gino Ventura.
this hung in a mansion and we are helping the heirs liquidate – it is VERY large and VERY dramatic. See the photo that has the baseball bat along side so you can see how large it is! The mansion had a wire strung around the foot of the charger and then made into a hanging loop – the wire is no longer on the piece as I removed it so piece wouldn’t get scratched in transport however the photos still show it. Also the number ‘4’ is marked in marker on the back that was for the movers when it was installed into the mansion years ago.
Will have to be crated for safety and shipped. Please inquire before bidding as cost will depend on your location.
