Countryside Black Onyx Box 8 x 4 x 5 inlaid Marble Malachite Jasper Made in Italy – this is a beautifully crafted solid Black Onyx hinged box wittth a countrryside scene thhaat is made from inlaid gemstones.  Purchased from Gibson’s at the Greenbrier in West Virginia.  Brand new never used it was in a storage facility for 20 years.  I notice a couple of light scratches from mishandling they are visible in the photos.  The box weighs almost 7 pounds!  Inlay marble – malacite – carnelian – jasper – quarts – lapis and other stones.  Has four ‘feet’ that probably had some felts glued to them but the glue has deteriorated over the years so the feet need to be cleaned of the residue and new felts applied.  Overall a  Really an elegant piece.
