Description
If you are into mechanical engineering google this patent. Very ingenious. It is small – 2 1/8 inches long by 1/2 inch wide by approx 3/8 inches in depth. The piece is working as it should. As you retract the red flexible material moves down and the platform moves up. When closed the red material curves over to close the top. It may be bakelite but probably some sort of high tech flexible resin. Made of white metal with the Patent 1810249 stamped iinside. Attributed to inventor Koehler. Many abrasions but no serious issues.
