I'm not a book expert so I will try my best to describe. This is a Latin reference book by Caroli du Fresne Domini du Cange entitled Glossarium de Causis Corruptae Latinitatis. The dates in the front indicate 1688 but I'm not sure if that is indeed the date printed. It measures about 10 inches wide by 15 inches tall and is 2" in depth. The paper is clearly cotton and has the distinctive laid lines thru out. Spine binding and sewing is still intact - the book is not coming apart - still held together quite well. Front and back covers are torn off and I don't have them. This volume A-B and there are 1393 entries. While the majority of the book is intact here is what's wrong with it: I note that the book is missing entries 1-8 and then at the end entries 1381-1388. There are about 4 pages that are either folded, torn out but placed back where they belong. Some serious foxing and staining on the 1st few pages and again on the last few pages. One of the pages in the lengthy Profaetio is torn in half and missing a portion so I'm not sure which page it was. All edges are painted in red. First 1/5 of book has a dent in all its pages probably from something heavy being on top of it for years. Dusty and has a slight old odor - not offensive. Many pages front and back have edge damage.
